Electrical Messages

The past few days rather a lot of my electrical devices have been going haywire in my home. I wonder if something is going on in the cosmos. My computer AC adapter shorted out. It stopped working, then decided to work again for 24 hours until it finally bit the dust. I have a Jupiter and Saturn conjunction in my astrological chart that makes anything negative turn positive, usually within a couple of days. So the plug I have been searching for the past 24 hours in stores around our home in Mexico was miraculously and generously replaced by a neighbor this afternoon.

The electrical storm continues. The window thermometer dropped on the tile floor when our housekeeper cleaned the windows. Interestingly, about three hours before this happened Win and I heard a loud thud coming from the direction of the living room. We both jumped up and followed the thud only to find nothing amiss. When the housekeeper dropped the thermometer on the floor three hours later, it broke with a thud - it was the exact same sound we had heard three hours previously. I had this happen to me some years ago when I heard news of a disaster on the radio and yet the event didn’t occur until later in the day. Maybe time is shifting - we are currently with the Mayans so you never know!

Now this evening our electric toothbrush stopped working - a minor event in this string of occurrences, but still relevant to the electrical storm that seems to be honing in on us.

So, I am looking at this as reflections of what is happening in my life.  The power is not getting through maybe??? I mentioned this thought to Win who of course said, “Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar!” Messages come to me in threes and here are three electrical messages. What is the connection? I’ll meditate on it. If you have any ideas do leave a comment.

Your WinC Spot (Week in Color) For the Week of 26th January 2009

Before you read this week’s WinC Spot and with the intention of receiving information about your week ahead, choose one of the following colors - Lilac, Pink, or Yellow.  Now, go ahead and read your color forecast!

Lilac

Lilac Flowers

Watch out for a misunderstanding at work that will get you in a bit of a pickle and a mid-week meeting that will leave you feeling left out of the loop. Toward the weekend news from family or close friends will entice you to take a much-needed break. This presents a chance to regroup and realize that you have been playing defensive. It is time for some action. The sweet smell of success is in the air for you, it just requires some strategy and careful planning. Your flower is lilac representing community and networking. Use these qualities to focus on your next step.

Pink

Lotus

You might think you have nothing to show for all the change you have been through over the past few weeks, well you would be wrong. There has been more going on behind the scenes than you realize and you are about to reap the benefits of all your hard work. A message will lift your spirits as it promises good things to come, and a trip you have been planning in February could be more memorable than you anticipate. Your flower is a beautiful pink lotus representing an open and abundant heart. Expect the gift of love this week in whatever shape or form it may take.

Yellow

Daffodils

Life will deal you a few good hands over the coming weeks, but the opinions of those that have your best interests at heart could mislead you causing you to miss out on some wonderful opportunities. While you have the support of friends and colleagues you are the only one that can make “it” happen. So, don’t go looking a gift horse in the mouth when an opportunity arises, take it! Your flower this week is a daffodil representing bright prospects and focus, guiding you to keep your eye on the finish line.

Your WinC Spot

If you missed the Leave it to Cleaver Radio Show you can download it in its entirety as a Podcast from the Leave it to Cleaver website.

Even if you miss the show, Your WinC Spot will be available every Monday on my blog. We are still toying with the idea of creating an experimental video WinC Spot or maybe a Podcast or both! This will probably happen some time soon. Do send me your ideas for colors for next weeks WinC Spot. And remember to check back next week to find out what your colors are and how your choice reflects your week ahead.

Have a Warm Week Filled With Lilac Action, Pink Love, & Yellow Opportunities

Carnival of Healing #173 Sealed With Love

I am delighted and honored to be hosting the Carnival of Healing #173 during this special week in history/herstory, and I am especially grateful to About.com’s Guide to Holistic Healing, Phylameana Iila Desy for giving me the opportunity to host my first carnival. The Carnival of Healing is a weekly round up of personal blog posts on the topics of holistic health, wellness, spirituality, and self-empowerment. Next week Nina Dixon will be hosting Carnival #174.

This week’s blog roll is about the abundant mysticism of you!
1 – is the number of the Sun reflecting individuality and the Divine Spark
7 – symbolizes Neptune the planet of mysticism and imagination
3 – is for Jupiter, the planet of abundance and expansion

I work with color. Having seen auras since childhood color interpretation comes naturally to me. So, to guide you on this blog journey I have created this week’s carnival to reflect the colors and symbolism of the seven major hue-man chakras. If you are not familiar with chakras they are like an energetic alimentary canal - they take energy in, process it, and then eliminate whatever is not needed. They are particularly susceptible to thoughts, emotions, and beliefs, and especially sensitive to the environment. Each blog entry comes under a color with a subheading that reflects the gifts or challenges of that color.

Red

Manifestation
Daylle Deanna Schwartz author and self-empowerment counselor has travelled a road that many have journeyed, but few have written about. Her latest series of Law of Attraction articles focuses on the impact that negative news - from the down turn in the economy to a flu epidemic – can have on us. Daylle presents the principles of resonance in a way that highlights their true meaning. In her words, “Though the economy is creating a negative environment, you can keep your own little corner of the world positive.”

Food
We know that antioxidants are good for us, but why are they beneficial and where do they come from? What Antioxidants Really do and Easy Ways to Get Enough answers these questions, and the inclusion of an Indigo super-food didn’t escape my notice – keeps my color buds happy!

Flow
MonaVie, heralded by many as a miracle drink has some claiming it is a scam, while others who use it professes to its benefits. Decide for yourself. Read both the MonaVie article and the comments to get the two sides of the story.

Structure
As a computer user I appreciate Dean Moyer’s tips for avoiding back trouble and ways to Prevent Back Pain with an Ergonomic Workstation. He supports his post with an amusing backdrop of photographs.

Forgiveness
One of the reasons many of us are attracted to the healing profession is because we recognize a need to heal ourselves. Author and psychic medium Carole Lynne shares memories of her mother in My Mother’s Sewing Basket and relating how important it is to forgive. This post triggered a flurry of comments from her readers.

Balance

Vibration
Bailey Earith is a professional fiber artist. Her blog contains so many interesting posts and snippets of information that it truly resonated with my creative soul. One of the most intriguing is a small piece entitled, Cymatics:The Mandalas of Sound. Cymatics is the study of sound wave vibration and its effects on physical matter.

Indigo

He posts weekly articles sharing his life experiences and includes exercises designed to inspire you to action. His latest post Changes honors this eventful week with an exercise entitled I Have a Dream.

Imagination
Aquatic Bodywork is a modality I had never heard of until I checked Sara Firman’s blog Diving Deeper. I was delighted to discover the name Sulis in her url, a Goddess of healing waters and one of my sacred names. This article explains how the combined use of water, movement, and music can stimulate the creative potential and awaken the artist within.

Vision
Jacob Teitelbaum MD writes a complementary medicine blog for Psychology Today. He currently has a series on eye health and in his latest post shares his reason for drastic measures when there is Vision Loss in One Eye.

Violet

Transformation
We are constantly changing and yet many of us resist it. Lissa Rankin MD is no different. Owning Change shares her continuing journey from naming her solo art show, to embracing the changes she wished for and is currently manifesting in her life.

Goals
Anita Boser writes a blog on aging gracefully. Using the wisdom of Patangali’s Yoga Sutras, she has created Seven Steps to Achieving New Year’s Goals. This is a fitness format, but it could just as easily be associated with other goals.

Future
The final blog entry comes from Life Coach, Colette Ellis. As we in the United States watch the new government with hope, she asks a pertinent question - What Will Be YOUR Call To Action Over the Next 100 Days?

This concludes the Sealed With Love edition of the Carnival of Healing. Submit your blog article to the next edition using the carnival submission form. Past posts and future hosts can be found on the blog carnival index page.Thank you for joining me.

Your WinC Spot (Week in Color) For Inauguration Week 2009

Before you read this week’s WinC Spot and with the intention of receiving information about your week ahead, choose one of the following colors - Red, White. and Blue.  Now, go ahead and read your color forecast!

Red

Light

Red signifies movement, passion, and success with a touch of fire. Expect an action packed week that offers a celebration and an opportunity to unite with others in a joint venture possibly resulting in a plan to travel. Imagine you are a red candle, completely set apart and different from others. This is your M.O! You have something unique to offer, but this won’t be completely understood until you reveal your light and show others what you are capable of. Even then you might set the passions of others ablaze yet still be ignored. Take heart, you will be the centerpiece. You will set the stage, keep the conversation burning, and before you know it your ideas will be at the core of every discussion.

Feng Shui: Place red in the area of fame and reputation in the southernmost region of your home. This section is related to how much light you bring into the world, so a red candle or red light would be perfect here.

White

Wishes

White contains all colors. Symbolically this means that you have everything you need at your fingertips and can afford to be a little picky. Sometimes it can be a challenge to figure out what you want and what you want to achieve. All you need to know is that anything is possible. You will never know if something could be a success until you try it. So, this week imagine that you can have anything your heart desires. Let go of all limitations, free yourself from negative programming, and liberate your wishes. White says you have an indeterminable amount of choices. Use your intuitive wisdom to discern those choices. Mix and match until you arrive at the perfect recipe with just the right ingredients.

Feng Shui: Place white flowers such as a dandelion clock symbolizing wishes in the northwest area of your home for blessings, and a white pad of paper with a pen in the west for creativity.

Blue

Peace

Blue is a predominant color in many religions and signifies peace, faith, and communication. The image I have is of a double Hookah, an Indian water pipe used for smoking herbs. This is a time to end wars.  Communication is important now. Allow your emotions to bubble to the surface and share your feelings with those you consider to have wronged you. In return, be willing to listen to their grievances too. Clear the air of disagreements with family and friends, and make a commitment to keep the peace. It is essential for you to distinguish between what is the truth and what is your story. This will allow you to be more objective when it comes to smoking the peace pipe.

Feng Shui: Place two blue crystals in or close to a window in the eastern section of your home to bring peace and clarity into your family and relationships.

Your WinC Spot (Week in Color) For the Week of 12th January 2009

Before you read this week’s WinC Spot and with the intention of receiving information about your week ahead, choose one of the following colors - Cinnamon Sticks, Mint Tea, or Honeycomb. Now, go ahead and read your color forecast!

Cinnamon Sticks

Embracing the Spice of Life

Cinnamon has lots of good qualities. It is known to maintain blood sugar levels, can be used as an aphrodisiac and was once so highly prized that wars were fought over it. Cinnamon reflects your need to add some spice to your life. It shows that some aspect of your day-to-day living just needs flavoring with a sprinkle of excitement, something to get your blood moving. Once this occurs - and it could be anything from a new sense of purpose to a romantic liaison - then you can be sure that you are on the right path. This is not to say that a particularly stimulating venture will continue, it is simply a sign of good things to come. To invoke this energy and clear the air of any stagnation that might hinder your path burning cinnamon sticks or cinnamon essential oil.

Mint Tea

Well-coming Growth

Mint is often used as a welcoming herb, either in tea or the leaves are rubbed on tables to summon a sweet and inviting scent. Green, the color of the heart, symbolizes growth. Mixed with the aroma of mint this implies that your popularity will inspire plenty of invitations to keep your time occupied. Because your heart will be more open than usual you will be vulnerable to some challenging conversations, ones that are destined to bring up memories, pleasant and unpleasant. To invoke the calming effect of mint try a cup of freshly brewed mint tea, but beware of its effect as an appetite stimulant otherwise you might gain a few pounds.

Honeycomb

Sweet Abundance

Your choice of honeycomb reveals a mixture of energies. First, we have the honey, or as it is known in Greece, ambrosia, the food of the Gods. Its golden color symbolizes abundance. Within the honeycomb this says to keep some of your money aside, locked away for a rainy day. Then we have the golden wax representing a new project that will involve others in its growth. This could take up to two years to formulate, but should be in the works within the next six months. Finally, the structure of the honeycomb, a mass of hexagonal – six sided cells symbolizes Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love. So, watch out for some romance this week, but remember who is queen! To invoke the golden sweetness of honey try burning a honeycomb candle, but before you light it add to it a prayer of love, abundance, and good health.

This will probably happen some time in the New Year. Do send me your ideas for colors for next weeks WinC Spot. And remember to check back next week to find out what your colors are and how your choice reflects your week ahead.

Your WinC Spot (Week in Color) For the Week of 5th January 2009

Before you read this week’s WinC Spot and with the intention of receiving information about your week ahead, choose one of the following colors - Imperial Purple, Sovereign Gold, or Royal White. There is a song to go with each of this week’s colors, just click on the song to listen and view it on the YouTube website. Now, go ahead and read your color forecast!

Imperial Purple

Passion

You might have been feeling a little bruised lately as your heart opens up to new experiences and passions. Give yourself the time to enjoy this blossoming period in your life. It takes faith not only in yourself, but also in the intentions and integrity of those around you. Be willing to examine the gamut of emotions you are fated to explore over the coming two weeks. By the end it will feel like you have been put once through the wash cycle, cleansed and ready for the next round of adventures. Suggested music to go with your mood is by a British band called Oasis, and the song is “Stop Crying Your Heart Out,” from the movie The Butterfly Effect about a man who finds a way to change his traumatic past by reading his adolescent journals. His actions change the course of his present life with unintended consequences. The moral is that everything happens for a reason and you would not be who you are today without those experiences.

Sovereign Gold

Abundance

Gold Sovereigns were first issued in the fifteenth century by Henry VII King of England and typically do not carry a mark of value. So, for all you gold sovereign choosers this is your opportunity to write your own destiny, to place your mark on history or herstory however you wish to see it. What do you want? What will fulfill you? It is time to make your dreams come true. Everything you need is right here, now! You don’t have to look outside of yourself. You can create, manifest, and fulfill whatever it is your heart desires. The key ingredient is realizing your power to create, your ability to manifest anything and everything in your life. In the movie classic From Russia with Love, James Bond is given a travel briefcase with 50 gold sovereigns hidden in a secret compartment. Your gold is hidden within you. All you have to do now is find it. Music to go with your purpose this week is “I have a Dream” by Abba

Royal White

Uniqueness

Before giving birth, Buddha’s mother had a dream of a white elephant holding a lotus flower. White is a symbol of purity, white elephants are considered to have sacred power and the lotus flower is a symbol of spiritual enlightenment. Choosing Royal white signifies that you are on a unique path, one that you have not trodden before, and could have a link to Buddhist traditions and related countries such as India and Thailand. Over the coming three weeks you will be looking at ways to express yourself that reflect a new level of awareness. You will seek a new understanding of your place in the world and may well venture outside of your current safety net. This could be a physical journey or an intellectual one or may involve traveling in your dreams. Whatever it is be prepared for some moments of silence. Your music is called, “Awakening,” by Deva Premal and Mitten. Listen to the lyrics and use the words to inspire you on the next step of your journey.
