Honoring Lughnasadh

Summer is quickly passing and at the end of this month is the Celtic fire festival of Lughnasadh celebrating the Sun God Lugh. The Saxon name for the feast is Lammas which means “loaf mass” the first grain yield. Grains are baked into ritual loaves and Bilberries are gathered to symbolize the first fruits of harvest. Lammas is sacred to the Greek Goddess of the Moon and the Hunt, Artemis. The Goddess also manifests as Demeter, Ceres, Corn Mother, and other agricultural Goddesses. The God manifests as Lugh, John Barleycorn, and various vegetation Gods.

During this month focus your attention on the fruits of your labor. Allow yourself the luxury of congratulating yourself on all your achievements and the hard work you have put in so far this year. Appreciate and honor both the positive and negative things in your life with blessings and gratitude. Although many of us see only the negative everything is the result of your ability to manifest. If you are experiencing something that you consider to be negative then see what you have to gain by manifesting it. Then thank it, bless it, and visualize it being surrounded and embraced by light. See it returning to and welcomed back into the light, disappearing in an explosion of light, dispersing like a firework.

I have had an article published about color on the About Holistic Healing Guide website. Let me know what you think. The article is called “You are the Colors you Choose.” You can also find it on my articles page.

I hope all is well with you.
