Nature's Signs & Symbols

The earth is changing with the natural cycles of Gaia reflected in the Spring Equinox and the total eclipse. From now on the sun inspires Gaia to awaken and balance new growth.

Win and I have just returned from our InSight and InTuition workshop in Costa Rica. The class and the people attending were lovely and the setting even more beautiful than I had expected. Spending time in the rainforest gave me the opportunity to return to nature and to appreciate the wonder of creation and the miracles of the earth Goddess, Gaia.

It is interesting how often nature reflects our consciousness. I met a frog who held an important message for me. He crossed my path at the end of my second day teaching class. Frogs often signify purification so, my intuition told me that this aspect of my extended consciousness was reminding me to cleanse after my class. The next day I found him standing outside my door, apparently waiting to enter. Once more a gentle prod to clear my energy.

Excursions the following day took the place of workshops, my frog was nowhere to be seen - obviously I had no need of his services. Yet, he reappeared on my path in the twilight hours at the finish of the next teaching day repeating his message to cleanse.

I am mindful of nature’s agreement to communicate significant messages to me, whether it be a mosquito biting me to wake up or a frog reminding me to cleanse, after all everything is an extension of our consciousness. A butterfly can mean transformation and change; an armadillo might reflect barriers and protection; while a rainstorm just at the right moment may signify a need to renew energy. The interpretation of the message wholly depends upon our own personal dictionary of symbolism, where our consciousness is focused, and how open we are to receive the sign. Of course my ever-pragmatic husband says, “Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar!” Some things may have no deeper meaning aside from being of service.

This month be aware of your surroundings, the messages in nature, how the weather reflects your inner world, play with the communication of the clouds, and remain open to the soul-driven interpretation of each sign. Be mindful of what is an extension of your consciousness and what is simply a natural part of your reality.

In honor of the Spring Equinox celebrate balance in your life. Be mindful of the time you spend with people and allow space for alone time to balance. Nurture yourself - you might tend to give to others and not yourself. Balance this with giving to yourself just as much as you give to others.
